台灣電影《那些年,我們一起追的女孩》在香港收得盆滿砵滿,令人意想不到。不少觀眾也許被其青春氣息所吸引。可是,若要在現時香港電影找這類型「青春片」,恐怕怎找也找不到,只因我們的青春電影,向來也不太青春。
青春電影,指的其實是以成長期間為題的電影,主們大都會有著學生的背景,可以是初中階段,也可以是高中階段。以近期台灣電影為例,後者有《那》片,前者則有下周四開畫的《星空》。
要找真正屬於青春為題的電影,演員年齡不能太大,而且還要有一定的數目,這對於現時港片來說,可算是十分困難。就以近幾年的香港電影來看,真的屬於青春電影,就只有麥曦茵執導的《烈日當空》。然而,《烈日當空》的製作條件十分有限,雖然它的成績其實也算不俗。
香港電影以一眾新人演出的電影在商業計算不成,故此每每都要加入一些有點知名度的演員,但是樣貌較佳的看起來不像中學生,而還可以扮起來的形象則極為奇怪。即使近年香港有著不少「o靚模」,但是要他們演青春電影而不是只是在擺些款式來供拍照,看起來也不易。
青春電影另一個需要的元素,就是一分純真的感覺,純真的感覺不等於是很乖很聽話,但至少沒有太大的俗氣。然而,這兩方面在港看起也不容易。就以今年暑期為例,便有兩部看起來以青春作賣點的《熱浪求愛戰》與《戀夏戀夏戀戀下》上映,可是前者拍攝技巧欠共兼對白智障,後者則只是將一些仿如偷窺款式放進,兩者純真全無。
要拍青春電影,也許在港只能望有投資者不介意花錢找全新人演出好了。

The Autumn movie season for Hong Kong has been an eye-opener. So many movies surprised us. So many Hollywood movies flopped.
When it comes to the coming-of-age film genre for HK, I think the real problem is whether the HK film producers have the right mind to make a film that people will enjoy to see, rather than calculating how much money they ‘may’ make at the box office.
《作死不離3兄弟》already shows that even with no name actors who happens to be of Indian Heritage, Hong Kong audiences are willing to embrace the movie. In fact, 3 IDIOTS is really a commercial Indian movie with themes that HK can relate to.
《那些年,我們一起追的女孩》certainly has mainstream appeal. Hong Kong certainly can find young people/artists to play similar characters. It is possible. I can only hope financers of HK movies can see this as a positive sign, and hopefully they can also find capable talents to make these coming-of-age films, as I don’t think established HK filmmakers will want to tackle this film genre.
