相比起過去周日票房與周四走勢相若而言，本周末票房有著截然不同的情況，大型發行的新片爬升乏力，而家庭客源電影則以數倍的速度爬升票房，結果周日整體票房貼近四百萬，較周四爬升近九成二，但各片爬升分佈則極不平均。
在新片吸引力不足之下，第三周上映港片《竊聽風雲2》繼續成為票房冠軍，周日更獲增場一成四於42院映229場，結果錄得逾萬五人次，而周更曾獲逾百萬票房，令電影在累積18天後衝破二千萬大關至2,025萬，也同時反映了電影的口碑與暑期缺乏吸引力港片下，可令《竊》片在一眾華語片中一枝觸秀。
華納發行的《邊個波士唔抵死？》同樣走勢理想，周日於28院放映接近百萬之下，雖然全日人次僅為《竊》片的一半，但每場人次高達80水平，票房爬升比達一倍三，令電影在累積11天達439萬，看來電影仍吸引到不少打工階層。相比之下，同日開畫首周票房較佳的《天煞西部反擊戰》昨天雖然於36院映143場，可是票房僅及《邊》片的三分之二，累積11天達528萬，且看最終票房能否被《邊》超越。
新開畫電影方面，雖然仍以泛亞發行的《陰傭花園》於賬面上表現較佳，不過電影於周日在26院映137場下，結果票房竟然毫無爬升，也令電影累積四天達142萬。《陰》片早段憑同檔期缺乏2D恐怖片受惠，不過周末一元推出恐怖片《兒凶》，加上觀眾初步反應顯示《陰》片恐怖程度不足，也許令票房受阻。同樣爬升速度不佳的還有安樂發行的《Miss愛教壞》，電影於周日安排在24院映125場，結果每場平均只有二千左右，票房爬升比率僅達成四，看來電影的賣點在其他電影開畫後變得吸引力不足，也令電影累積四天僅達108萬。
相比之下，小眾發行電影錄得不俗的升幅。安樂發行的印度片《作死不離3兄弟》雖然周日維持九院映43場，不過卻錄得近三千人次，每場不均達69人次，爬升比率近半，相信也許因為片長關係平日夜場客源有所顧慮下，將其電影改於周末觀看所致，也為電影累積達58萬，相信未來一周有望達至百萬水平。娛藝與英皇發行的文藝類型的《簡．愛》周日於三院映18場下，每場人次高達71水平，票房也較周四爬升近倍，為電影累積至24萬，看來文藝類型只要有合適的發行模式及戲院選擇，一樣可錄得高入座。
至於本周開畫的炮灰《大逃殺3D》周日雖然仍於12院映58場，不過整體票房較周四卻下跌百分之六，成為全日唯一票房下跌的電影，也許反映了電影的3D效果毫無賣點下，觀看寧看該片的2D版本影碟，觀乎目前累積只達二萬七千的情況下，要達50萬票房也許不易。
家庭客源電影在開學過後，其平日與假日安排可算相差甚遠，當中從《反斗車王2》及《藍精靈》兩片尤為明顯，前者周日由映22場大幅場至72場下，票房為周四的七倍，後者由映17場增至51場下，票房也是周四的五倍，可見家庭客源的影響。目前《反斗車王2》累積至1,882萬，恐怕未能衝破二千萬大關，而《藍精靈》則累積至1,715萬，算是在發行公司預期之上。
其他電影方面，霍士發行的《猿人爭霸戰：猩凶革命》雖已上映四周，不過周日在院映104場下，仍獲接近五千人次，累積達2,331萬。反觀錢國偉執導的《戀夏戀夏戀戀下》在第二個周末雖於17院映52場，但全日人次只有千二上下，累積11天達129萬，相信最終票房會較鄧東明的《熱浪球愛戰》為低。

《竊聽風雲2》is exceeding everybody’s expectations. It is very nice to finally see exhibitors giving extra screenings during a weekend, which is long overdue. Notice the movie would have already grossed 17 times its opening Thursday by today’s end. Baring any spectacular collapse (exhibitors screen cuts) this coming Thursday, there is still at least HK$2.75 million left in 《竊聽風雲2》’s run, meaning it is gunning to close with HK$23 million, or 19 times its opening Thursday. Great job!
The great news actually is 《邊個波士唔抵死？》. After seeing last weekends’ surprise screen cuts, it is probably receiving good word of mouth from its target audience, just in time to give a sensational 2nd weekend hold. At first I was worried it cannot reach HK$4.5 million, but now it has potential to go further than HK$6 million. Warner Brothers is saving a lot of face this time, but it is hard to imagine 《邊個波士唔抵死？》 not winning over the HK market. I hope Jennifer Anniston is getting the credit long elluded her in HK.
Basically it is rare to see American comedies having a successful run, so when you get an above average performer now in 《邊個波士唔抵死？》, there is no breathing room for another comedy, meaning《Miss愛教壞》suffered, and the movie is now in danger of not crossing HK$2 million, or barely reaching 10 times its opening Thursday, a multiplier which 《天煞西部反擊戰》is also in danger of not reaching with its hugely disappointing run.
It is not a surprise to see《陰傭花園》doing poorly on its weekends. Movies with scary/horror elements almost never post good weekend surges, but I guess nobody will expect it to do this poorly. With such bad momentum, can it even finish higher than HK$2.75 million?
Scary movies are now crash burning one after another in North America, and it seems the Hong Kong market is no different. To make things worse, we have competition from non-Hollywood offerings!
Hope HK exhibitors master the art of better scheduling choices, especially seeing that both 《反斗車王2》and《藍精靈》are still doing weekend business despite school starting. Can this convince distributors to consider scheduling more family movies outside of summer or long holidays?

I hope so too as I really wanted this movie to do well (it did not receive weekend screen boost on its first two weekends), but it depends on whether exhibitors will give more screenings. It seems the new movies opening today were not too strong, so we will see.
