昨天四有兩部華語片與兩部外語片開畫以不同發行模式開畫，不過整體成績卻各有不同，而昨天整體票房收入則達268萬，與上周四《桃姐》仍未開畫下票房相若。
新開畫電影中，以安樂發行的港片《大追捕》表現最為理想，電影首天安排於45院映249場下，以105萬名列榜首，每場人次也達至65的高水平。《大追捕》以《殺人犯》的導演周顯揚及編劇杜緻朗為班底，在宣傳上成功以兩大影帝張家輝及任達華為賣點，令票房於早段理想，以此走勢發行或會以一千萬為目標，但能否達到則要先視乎口碑及周末爬升情況。
同樣表現不俗的還有得利發行以八院作小型發行的懸疑片《諜網謎蹤》，首天放映33天場下以八萬六千的成績名列第五，每場平均人次也超過40。《諜》的主要賣點主要來自獲奧斯卡最佳男主角提名的加利奧文，電影以小型模式發行能凝聚其目標客源，加上選映戲院不少也針對外籍觀眾為主，令其電影票房有不俗表現。
相比之下，娛藝與英皇聯合發行的日本片《草食男之桃花期》雖然以18院映84場作中型發行，不過首天票房卻只有五萬九千，而每場人次也只能僅達雙位數字，成績也許令不少人失望。《草》片觀乎款式也許主要賣點在於年青客源，不過其電影走較為偏鋒路線，加上屬原著改編，也許其主要客源以粉絲向為主，以接近廿家戲院發行拖低入座。
至於本周的「砲灰」之選，則由晶藝發行，鄭中基與梁詠琪主演的《嫁個100分男人》奪得。電影雖然以14家戲院作中型發行，不過院商對此片看得極淡，大都沒安排夜場放映，以至首天映60場也只進賬一萬六千，可算是打破兩名主角在港開畫新底。《嫁》無論觀乎片名、海報與故事，對於香港市場可算是零吸引力，電影上映也只是嘗試挑戰各項下限而已，故此繼後走勢也不樂觀。
隨著新片的開畫，上周末強勢開畫的港片《桃姐》票房略有回落，昨天於49院映257場下，錄得約74萬的成績，然而每場人次仍以44名列第二，電影在累積一周票房達1,265萬，觀乎走勢暫時相信衝破二千萬該不太困難。同日開畫由迪士尼發行的《異星爭霸戰：尊卡特傳奇》在縮場兩成後於42院映193場，結果票房大跌三分之二至44萬，而累積則貼近一千萬，以電影演員陣容較弱而言算有所交代。環球發行的《鐵娘子─戴卓爾夫人傳》則在《桃姐》強勢下被比下去，次周縮場三成至25院映97場下，昨天僅能錄得14萬，票房較上周四下跌七成，累積則達356萬，要達五百萬看來不易。
其他電影方面，洲立發行鈕承澤執導的《愛Love》與馬田史高西斯執導的《雨果的巴黎奇幻歷險》昨天分別映13及15場下同樣獲得票房二萬五千，當中《愛Love》累積已達597萬，六百萬該不成問題，而《雨果》累積則達478萬，能否達五百萬大關要視乎周巴爬升若干。至於奧斯卡最佳電影《星光夢裡人》昨映十場票房較《嫁》片為佳，累積則達306萬。
Ken Resurrected
First, Ryan, Edko distributes 《鐵娘子─戴卓爾夫人傳》, not 環球. Edko sure has a mixed Thursday. 《鐵娘子─戴卓爾夫人傳》open higher than many other British biopic movies, but it drop a horrendous 72% on its 2nd Thursday. Like I mentioned already, it is not a good movie at all. Its box office momentum is below average in the US and UK, so there is no reason to think this one can get a miraculous HK run, although the bright spot is that it may finish higher than THE QUEEN. Still, it may even barely reach a 10 times opening day multipier if it finish with HK$5 million.
And then they have ambitions for 《失戀33天》, but it already drop off the top 10 only in its 3rd Thursday. Every week it lives under the shadows of the top ticket item for its genre, 《愛Love》. This blog help push the movie in mid-February, knowing the movie may not be an easy sell, but to see it do such disappointing business is heartbreaking. Accumulating HK$2 million is really not good for a movie which opens with over 100 shows on its debut Thursday. 《不再讓你孤單》manage to get to HK$3.9 million, and even that one did not receive enthusiastic reviews as 《失戀33天》did. Hope Edko learn its lesson and do not open a directly comparable movie against each other.
Now, to the good news, 《大追捕》managed to open spectacularly good. Apparently bad feelings were forgotten about 《殺人犯》. Edko sure hopes this one will not crash and burn like the other two current releases. Good luck. It will be a great month for HK movies if this one manage to come close to HK$10 million.
《桃姐》drop 61% from its opening Friday, but this is definitely an inflated comparison, as it did not open on a Thursday last week. It still has the strength to cross HK$20 million or go higher, making it Ann Hui’s highest grossing movie, although it became clear that 《桃姐》might not have strong crossover appeal to younger demographics compare to ECHOES OF THE RAINBOW. This movie will certainly see stronger weekend surges.
《異星爭霸戰：尊卡特傳奇》drop 66%, a standard hold for this type of movie. It may still finish in line with my HK$15.5 million forecast or slightly lower, depending on how strong Disney can bargain to hold on to the screens.
《諜網謎蹤》is not the sort of movie which will have a leggy run in HK. Not to say that its fate its directly comparable to the US. A $1.5 million final HK gross will be overachieving in my books.
Finally, 《雨果的巴黎奇幻歷險》is struggling to get to HK$5 million. I can conclude that Intercontinental is not a very capable distributor and marketer compare to Fox HK. Intercontinental now have a few underperforming family movies since CNY. Not what I expect from a distrubitor I was highly critical of dominating TRANSFORMERS 3 in prime period of HK 2011 summer.
