新一期票房預測比賽隨著周五的票房公佈，也大致計算完成，也感謝各參賽者的支持。
是次預測要求參加者就八月四日開畫四部新片的票房進行預測，結果成績介乎四十二至七十九分之間，差距沒有平日般闊，當中以《翡翠明珠》出現較大的預測誤差，而《壞蛋獎門人》則普遍出現高估現像，也許在預測票房時，動畫電影的平日票房相對較弱之元素也該包括在內。
票房預測比賽於下周仍會進行，敬請大家留意。

I might have severely under-estimate its opening, but《翡翠明珠》deservingly underperformed. It may finish with 3-4 million, which is a great warning signal for TVB.
《壞蛋獎門人》clearly underperformed. With such a disappointing start in Hong Kong, even if family movies has great surges during weekend, it will still finishes way behind SHREK 4’s HK numbers, possibly less than half.
魔法師的門徒 benefitted from the Disney brand name, and opened decently, much like what DISNEY did for 波斯王子:超時空之戰 in Hong Kong. However, I think DESPICABLE ME’s weekend performance will be higher than SORCERER’S APPRENTICE, but only if exhibitors do not slash its 3D screens to make way for TOY STORY 3.
功夫夢 is not a typical bad Jackie Chan US film, so I should not have predicted a lowly 70K for its opening.

** Yeah, perhaps local viewers think it is just another 3D animation and over looking it. (well, you know, more than half a dozen 3D animation films have been shown already in the past couple of months)
